“Soul Contracts” Aren’t What You Think.

My friends, there comes a time where you have to ask yourself… do I love the person in front of me and the reality of what’s between us, or the story and special connection I’ve attached to them?
Sitting with this question for even a few minutes will begin to dismantle any “soul contract” or “past life” beliefs you had about you and this person. I write this blog and put this question in front of you in order to address the sad reality many are living under. The impression that they’re “clearing karma” and are under soul contracts with people God never ordained in their lives in the first place.

That picture above ^ might seem dramatic, but sometimes it takes just that to see the reality of a situation. The reality of how messing with the wrong person can alter your life and path. Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals” 1 Corinthians 15:33 ESV. If there’s pain, confusion, and bad more than good, God never had anything to do with that connection. Think about it, why would God, who looks after and cares for you, send you someone who crushes your spirit?
Have you believed the lie that you must go through pain first in order to thrive? That you’re “kissing frogs” before your “one” comes? That love is hard?
Don’t get me wrong, God is sovereign. But God’s plan is not the same as how His sovereignty can cover you in times of disobedience. He can turn what the enemy meant for bad into good. Oftentimes, these people God never sent will be the reason you run to Him in the end (hopefully).
God gives free will. He has a good plan for you, but when you make alliances He never ordained, you end up under His permissive will (what He allows) rather than His perfect plan for you.
Partnerships, and marriage most of all, as a believer; are meant to glorify God. It’s more than just romance, passion, and love. A truly godly marriage will glorify Him and be about Kingdom purpose.

If you find yourself doubting and second guessing more than you feel peace, that’s not God-sent. That unrest may be God’s way of saying… “I’m not involved in this.”
My friend, the best thing you can do for yourself is let go of these “past lives” and “soul contract” ideas. In reality, you’re not bound to this person. You’re bound to a belief that’s keeping you stuck.
God would never want you bound to someone in an unhealthy or ungodly way. His plan for you never involves ongoing sin or separation from Him.
The more you believe you have a soul contract with someone, the harder it can be to let go. These relationship always just lead to things like fornication, resentment, or unforgiveness.
Think about it: fornication, resentment, un forgiveness, anger, complaining, etc. these are not fruits of the spirit. The Holy Spirit brings love, peace, self control, wisdom, etc. That means you’re not under a contract with this person, but actually satan. He’s the great deceiver. The fruit speaks for itself!
Staying attached to someone God never intended, simply because you gave the connection a meaning it was never meant to carry.
My hope is that this blog shifts something in you today. That you can be free from both the person and the belief that’s been keeping you from something truly God-ordained. 🕊️
